Shorecliffs Golf Club
Wedding Photographer
Wedding photography at Shorecliffs Golf Club in San Clemente.
Golf course views, water features behind the ceremony area, a
remodeled clubhouse, and an easy San Clemente feel.
Shorecliffs Golf
Club Weddings
Shorecliffs is a relaxed San Clemente wedding venue with open greens, trees, ponds, and canyon light.
It has more variety than people expect from a smaller golf course venue.
The ceremony area is simple, but the ponds behind it help give the background some depth.
Photographing Weddings
at
Shorecliffs
Shorecliffs works best when the photography stays simple.
The property has enough clean spots for ceremony coverage, family photos, couple portraits, and reception coverage without having to leave the venue.
That matters on a wedding day.
Less driving, less staging, less time away from the people who came to be there.
What Works Well Here
The remodeled clubhouse is one of the stronger parts of Shorecliffs.
It has a clean architectural look and works well for quieter portraits of the couple without having to leave the property.
Having the ceremony and reception in the same area also makes the day easier.
Guests do not have to move locations, and cocktail hour can stay close to the veranda with views of the course, ponds, and water features.
The weather can also shift in a good way.
A warm summer day usually cools down once the sun drops behind the hills. The coastal breeze and humidity can turn it into a really comfortable evening.
Tell your guests to bring a sweater.
My Approach Here
I don’t try to turn Shorecliffs into something it isn’t.
It is a local San Clemente venue with a relaxed golf course feel, and that is what works about it.
I keep the coverage clean, fast, and natural to the day.
Ceremony, family photos, a few good portraits, reception, speeches, dancing, and the real stuff happening in between.
Best Photo Areas
Ceremony area with the ponds.
Golf course edges.
Open shade near the trees.
Clubhouse exterior.
Reception space inside.
Small pockets of light around the property.
Not The Shores by Wedgewood
VShorecliffs Golf Club is not the same venue as The Shores by Wedgewood.
Both are in San Clemente, but they are different venues with different layouts, different looks, and different wedding setups. See my Shores at Wedgewood wedding photography page.
Q&A
Is Shorecliffs Golf Club good for wedding photos?
Yes. Shorecliffs works great if you want everything in one location.
There are several good photo spots around the course with trees, open green space, the ponds behind the ceremony area, and the new clubhouse. They all make clean, simple backdrops.
If you build in more time, we can also take a quick run down to the beach or do a first look nearby to add more variety.
Can we do all of our wedding photos at Shorecliffs?
Yes. Ceremony, family photos, wedding party photos, couple portraits, and reception coverage can all be done on the property.
That keeps the day moving and avoids losing time driving around.
What is the light like at Shorecliffs?
The light can be really nice later in the day, especially around the course, trees, and pond area.
Like most San Clemente venues, timing matters. I usually look for open shade, clean direction of light, and spots that keep the background simple.
Is Shorecliffs better for smaller weddings?
It works really well for smaller and mid-size weddings.
The venue has a relaxed local feel, so it fits couples who want a real wedding day without making it feel like a huge production.
Can we add beach photos if we get married at Shorecliffs?
Yes, if the timeline allows it.
Shorecliffs is close enough to the coast that we can add a quick beach stop, or plan a nearby first look before the ceremony for more variety.
