Casa Romantica
Weddings
A simple, relaxed approach to photographing weddings along the San Clemente coastline.
Casa Romantica is one of those venues that just works.
Ocean views, clean grounds, and everything is close together so the day flows naturally without a lot of moving parts.
I’ve photographed a number of weddings here over the years, and it consistently ends up being a smooth, enjoyable experience for couples.
Why Couples Choose Casa Romantica
The biggest thing Casa has going for it is how easy it is.
You get the ocean backdrop without dealing with sand, wind, or crowds. The property is elevated, clean, and organized in a way that makes everything feel calm and controlled.
It feels private, but still very much coastal.
How the Day Flows
Everything happens within a short walk.
Ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception are all right there, which means no transportation delays, no confusion, and no wasted time moving people around.
That alone makes a huge difference in how the day feels.
Lighting Throughout the Day
Casa photographs well in just about any condition.
Midday is clean and bright.
Afternoon brings softer coastal light.
And sunset gives you warm tones over the ocean.
Even overcast days work really well here, which is more common in San Clemente than people expect.
Portraits Around the Property
There’s a lot of variety in a small space.
Garden areas, arches, pathways, and ocean viewpoints all give you different looks without ever leaving the venue.
You don’t need to go anywhere else to get a full set of photos.

Real Talk
Casa is easy.
That’s honestly the biggest thing.

And from a photography standpoint, that always leads to better images.

Q&A
What makes Casa Romantica a great wedding venue?
It’s hard to beat the ocean views here. You’ve got the cliffs, the gardens, and that Spanish-style architecture all in one spot. It feels really intimate but still has that coastal backdrop that makes everything look elevated.
When is the best time for photos at Casa Romantica?
Late afternoon into sunset is always great for that golden light, but Casa is one of those venues where earlier in the day can actually work really well too. The white walls around the property act like natural reflectors, especially in the corridors and inside some of the rooms, so you get really clean light that you don’t always get later in the day.
Where do you take photos at Casa Romantica?
There are a lot of solid spots here. The bluff is perfect for sunset, and the gardens are great for portraits. Earlier in the day, I like using the corridors and interior spaces where the light bounces really nicely. Out front, the arches give you an amazing view of the San Clemente Pier, and the keyhole front door entrance is always a cool, unique shot.
How many speeches should we plan for?
I usually recommend keeping it to a few key people and keeping them short. A couple great speeches always land better than a long lineup, and it keeps the night moving so you actually get time on the dance floor.
Does it get cold at Casa Romantica at night?
Even on a warm summer day, once the sun goes down it cools off quick. You’ll usually feel a little breeze come through, and with the humidity by the ocean it can drop faster than people expect. Something light to throw on later in the night is always a good idea.
Considering Something Smaller?
Not every wedding at Casa needs to be a full event.
